The Gallery Choir is a mixed four part SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) harmony choir and was established in spring 2012.

Many of our founding members had sung in community choirs before and came together to create a new choir which would be run by its members for its members.

We’re proud to take our name from Stockport Art Gallery where we rehearse.

This magnificent Greco-Roman building and war memorial has superb acoustics and the sound we make in such a splendid setting is an inspiration to us all – making it a privilege and a pleasure to rehearse here each week.

Today The Gallery Choir is run by a Committee of members elected in accordance with our Constitution to administer its affairs.

Lorraine Harris-Roche is a classically-trained Soprano/Singing Teacher/Vocal Coach/Musical Director and Adjudicator. She also conducts and tutors the Oldham International Choir and has coached several other groups such as Sing Live UK’s North West branch. A wonderfully vibrant lady who is passionate about singing, she inspires and imparts her musical knowledge with fun and wit.

Greg Mather is an accomplished musician with a wealth of experience both as a performer and a teacher.

He has previously worked as a musical director, both in the UK and internationally, and currently plays for a variety of events and concerts as well as working as a private music teacher in the Greater Manchester area. More information about Greg can be found at: gregmathermusic.com
