Hazel Grove Musical Festival 2022

15th October 2022

The Hazel Grove Musical Festival was able to run this year following the pandemic. The choir section was delayed until October to give choirs a chance to rehearse together.

We performed 3 songs :

Mr Blue sky

Fix You

Bohemian Rhapsody

Below is the certificate that we received for coming second in the competition. We also received this plaque for the best performance of a song and this was for Bohemian Rhapsody - one of our favourites to perform.

10 Year Anniversary Celebration

27th April 2022

The choir was formed in spring 2012 and we took our name from Stockport Art Gallery where our rehearsals first began. It was important to us that the choir was run by its members for its members.

Over the years we've been invited to perform at many interesting, weird and wonderful venues and even in a play called 'The Event' in Manchester where we had to sing the Norwegian Coffee Song in Norwegian!!

We've sung at several National Trust properties, Corporate events, Stockport Town Hall, The Royal Exchange in Manchester, the Whitworth Art Gallery, Victoria Baths (once when the water was in!) and the Old Parsonage in Didsbury.  We've competed at the Alderley Edge Music Festival, The International Choral Festival in North Wales and the Music Festival at Hazel Grove.  We also perform at our brilliant Family and Friends concerts which we usually hold every summer and Christmas, and hopefully that will be the case once again.  These are just a few of the events we've been privileged to attend.

It is now 10 years later and we are all still enjoying singing and performing together especially now we can all sing in one room again!!
